ULS prepared and installed two 36” valves at the Aqua Pickering Creek Water Treatment Plant, located in Phoenixville, PA. One of the valves, called a butterfly Valve, rotates to open, and the other one is a Gate Valve that closes in a horizontal motion. ULS excavated and shored the two locations for the valves. Our welders attached four sleeves to the water main in order to increase the diameters, so that the coupling would fit to both the new and old pipe. The water main was then drained, saw cut to remove a section of the pipe where the valves would be placed. The valves were attached with sleeves and bolted together.
